Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is the common, shared athletic program of three colleges that are part of the Claremont Colleges. Claremont McKenna College and Harvey Mudd College began fielding a joint athletics program in 1960; Scripps College joined them in 1977.
Claremont Men’s College was the third of the Claremont colleges (following Pomona and Scripps). It was founded following World War II to provide educational opportunities for military veterans looking to utilize their G.I. Bill benefits. It took its current name in 1981.
Harvey Mudd College opened in 1955, with a focus on science and engineering.
Scripps College was one of the first two schools of the Claremont colleges, opening in 1926. It still maintains a single-gender, women’s student body.
The Claremont Men’s College began fielding an intercollegiate baseball team in 1957. The other sports had already competed as members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, an affiliation that has lasted to this day.
The Stags have yet to play in a College World Series.
Only one alumni has made it to the Major Leagues – longtime Dodgers first baseman Wes Parker.
Home games are played on campus at Bill Arce Field.
