The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was founded in 1915 when five colleges form a sports league. Occidental and Redlands have been continuous members, while Caltech, Pomona College and Whittier left and later returned.
Chapman University re-joined in 2011, giving the conference its current lineup. Azusa Pacific has applied to join the conference following the 2026 baseball season. There are nine schools in the conference, all nine field a baseball team, and all nine are in Southern California.
