The University of Antelope Valley announced that it was closing its doors, with the last day of classes – and sports – being March 6, 2024.

University of Antelope Valley was founded in 1997 as the Antelope Valley Medical College, a medical careers school. In 2009, the school began awarding associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree and took its present name.

UAV began competing in baseball in 2015, playing as an NAIA independent its first year before joining the California Pacific Conference the following year.

Home games are played at the nearby ballpark, The Hangar, previously home to a Single A minor league team. It opened in 1996, and seats 4,500.
