California State University, Fullerton was founded as the Orange County State College in 1957, with first classes held two years later. The name was changed to Orange State College for the 1962-63 academic year, then the California State College at Fullerton in 1964. In 1972, it was given its present name.

The Titans began baseball in 1965. They have played in the Big West Conference since 1989.

Cal State Fullerton has been to 18 College World Series, winning four times to date: in 1979, 1984, 1995 and 2004.

Baseball Almanac lists more than 70 Titans who have gone on to play in the Major Leagues. Among them are All-Stars Tim Wallach, Justin Turner and Phil Nevin, now manager of the Los Angeles Angels. Mark Kotsay – who currently manages the Oakland A’s – also played at Cal State Fullerton.

Home game are played at their on-campus stadium, Goodwin Field. Built in 1992, the ballpark seats 3,500.
